Considering in the present that I’m a working creative practitioner who trains as a university student, this is likely the relevance this card dealt to me holds. I’m in the transitionary period of my life where I’m becoming a self-sufficient adult, and the big dog-eat-dog world is proving to be a challenge.
There have been times in my creative career, where I have struggled to take in constructive criticism. This factor alone, in the realisation, proves that I am learning how criticism can be utilised to further my expertise in the illustrative field. These decisions I currently make in my work all have intent behind them. Naturally, as a learning student and human being in my first year of university, I will be made aware of shortcomings and improvements to the fluidity of my visual language.
This card likely resembles the struggle and learning curves I’ve experienced, grasping how different foundation year is to first year. Therefore, the value in it holds the experiences of criticism in my career, and how I can adapt from it.
